Addressing food insecurity for students
What you need to know
In the wake of the pandemic, food insecurity has surged, driven by inflation. This crisis isn't limited to the United States; it's magnified in places like Kenya. Economic strains, compounded by entrenched poverty, have left schools in Mombasa and its surrounding areas grappling with tough decisions. Some are reluctantly slashing lunch programs to stay afloat financially. For countless students, school was their lifeline to a nourishing meal. Picture returning from lunch break only to face exhaustion and hunger because there's nothing to eat at home. In the sprawling slums surrounding our schools, many children go to bed with empty stomachs. Your support is crucial; these students desperately need it.
How we are responding
In these challenging times, e3kids and several schools in Kenya are united in purpose and prayer, seeking your help to make a tangible difference in the lives of those facing food insecurity.
We are striving to raise $15,000 each year to ensure access to essential food and clean, safe water for two schools. e3kids provides funds for nutritious food each month to over 120 - 150 students in each school.
With just $25 a month, you can provide nourishment to a student in need, allowing them to concentrate on their studies without the distraction of hunger.
Your contribution will not only fill empty stomachs but also fuel young minds, empowering them to thrive in their education. Together, let's erase the burden of hunger and create a brighter future for these children.
Your generosity can make a lasting impact, giving hope and opportunity to those who need it most. Thank you for your kindness and support.
Help us erase the distraction of hunger so that the kids can focus on learning at school.
Where you can help
One person can make a difference. It only takes 50 people giving $25 a month to feed the students in both schools. If you’re able, we ask that you give generously, below.
