In late September, the Royal Kids School cut its lunch program to reduce costs in order to remain open. For many students, this was their only hot meal for the day. Imagine going home for lunch only to come back exhausted and hungry because there was no food at home. Many often go to bed hungry. Our partner school needs your help. What do paper jewelry and water have to do with eachother? If you ask us, we’d say everything! As an organization one of our goals is to empower and enrich the lives of others. One way that we work to achieve this goal is by implementing Uzima water filtration systems at Royal Kids School and within the surrounding community of Mombasa, Kenya. Over the years we have used paper bead jewelry as a means to empower and educate those within the United States, in an effort provide clean water for those in need. 5 beaded bracelets = clean water for 1 family in Kenya. We have gone to schools, events and even hosted parties. Stringing together jewelry pieces made up by paper beads. We have found this as an interactive opportunity to not only have people participate in making jewelry, but participate in making an impact in the lives of others. Access to clean water reduces the occurrence of water born illnesses and allows for students to stay in school.
