Proudly 100% librarian-led

Developing libraries in other countries isn’t easy. It’s an arduous process of curating a collection of culturally appropriate content, maintaining a culture of importance towards literacy, and integrating new technology to remain relevant, all while keeping kids engaged along the way.

Meet the librarians leading the project!

Francis Otieno

ROYAL KIDS SCHOOL LIBRARIAN

Francis is a teacher and librarian at Royal Kids School and a student of Human Resource Management at the East Africa Institute of Certified Studies. Before attending Royals as a student, he did not have regular access to books or a school library, so his role as school librarian and the charge of promoting literacy have become his new found passion. He gives back to the school that helped him succeed by guiding and assisting students. He cultivates servant leadership through the student library assistant program, which he supervises. Francis models an attitude of service and diligence in education. He encourages students to harness the educational resources they have and empowers them to strive toward excellence.
